How Is the TNEA Rank List 2025 Prepared?

The ranking is computed using a combination of marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The maximum weightage is given to Mathematics (100 marks), followed by a combined score of Physics and Chemistry (50 marks each, totalling another 100 marks). This brings the overall maximum to 200.

In case of tie scores, the following tie-breaking criteria are applied in order:

  • Higher marks in Mathematics
  • Higher marks in Physics
  • Higher marks in the optional subject
  • Total percentage in Class 12 board exams
  • Age (older candidates preferred)
  • Higher TNEA-assigned random number
What’s Next After the Rank List?

The counselling for special categories including differently abled candidates, wards of ex-servicemen, and sports quota will begin from July 7. General counselling will be conducted from July 14 to August 19.

If candidates have any doubts regarding the rank list, they can contact the grievance redressal cell from June 28 to July 2.

Candidates are advised to follow the official schedule and instructions provided on the TNEA portal for further steps in the counselling process.
