Key Noida routes to face delays on June 23, 24 due to VIP movement

Traffic movement in Noida and Greater Noida will be temporarily affected on Monday and Tuesday due to the arrival of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, who will be attending major academic events in the city.

The Noida traffic police issued an advisory on Sunday, warning commuters about possible delays on major roads such as the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, the elevated road connecting Sector 62 to Sector 18, and the Delhi-Noida-Direct (DND) Flyway. Traffic on these routes will be temporarily paused to facilitate the movement of VIP convoys. Restrictions are expected to begin around 10 am on both days and may last for short periods, Hindustan Times reported.

“To facilitate this, there will be traffic restrictions during VIP movement on the Noida Expressway, DND Flyway, and nearby areas,” HT quoted Lakhan Singh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Noida, as saying. He added that vice chancellors and academicians from various universities will also be arriving at the venue using the same route, further increasing traffic pressure.

Meanwhile, UP Governor Anandiben Patel will attend a programme at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University in Sector 62 on the same day. She is also scheduled to visit GL Bajaj Institute of Technology & Management in Greater Noida later in the day. As a result, traffic restrictions will also be in effect around Sector 62 and the Knowledge Park area.

On Tuesday, the governor is expected to participate in another session of the conference at Amity University, leading to continued restrictions. Although her exact schedule hasn't been disclosed, police confirmed that morning hours would be impacted.
