Vadodara car crash accused Rakshit Chaurasiya

A law student in Vadodara, booked for reckless driving after crashing his car into three two-wheelers, injuring eight people and killing a woman, is believed to be influenced by the Danish film "Another Round", said police.

The accused, Rakshit Chaurasiya, a fourth-year law student at M S University, was heard shouting "Another round", "Uncle", "Om Namah Shivay", and a woman’s name after the accident, in a video footage that has since gone viral. The accident occurred near Amrapali Chaar Rasta in Karelibag, a busy intersection in Vadodara city.

The driver, dressed in a black T-shirt, was visibly unstable and began shouting incoherently after the crash.

During their investigation, according to a report in The Times of India, police found a poster of Another Round in his rented home. The film revolves around four friends who test a theory that humans naturally have 0.05% lower blood alcohol levels than needed, leading them to drink during the day.

Chaurasiya has been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, rash driving, and reckless endangerment, along with Motor Vehicles Act violations. He claims he was not intoxicated, but forensic results from his blood sample are awaited.

The crash resulted in the immediate death of one woman, later identified as Hemaliben Patel. The impact of the crash left three to four others seriously injured, including Jaini (12), Nishaben (35), an unidentified 10-year-old girl and an unidentified 40-year-old man.
