TVS Motor Company today launched the TVS Orbiter electric scooter in India at a starting price of Rs 99,900. This is effective ex-showroom price in New Delhi and Bengaluru and includes the PM E-Drive incentive.
The Orbiter is the third electric scooter from TVS after the popular iQube and the flagship X. Till now, the company has sold over 6,00,000 units of electric scooters.
The Orbiter offers several segment-first features, including an IDC-certified range of 158km, cruise control, hill hold assist, and a 34-litre boot that can accommodate two helmets. It also debuts an industry-first 14-inch front wheel in the category, aimed at improving ride stability.
Powering the scooter is a 3.1kWh battery that supports regenerative braking and dual riding modes, Eco and Power. The company says the design prioritises aerodynamic efficiency for better stability and range.
On the convenience front, the Orbiter includes a straight-line footboard, a long flat seat, a USB charging port, and 169mm ground clearance. The connected LCD integrates call and SMS alerts, while the connected mobile app enables remote battery monitoring, navigation, geo-fencing, and theft alerts. Over-the-air updates are also supported.
Safety features include crash and fall alerts, live location tracking, emergency notifications, and anti-theft warnings. Hill hold assist and parking assist further enhance rider confidence in urban conditions.
The electric scooter is available in six colour shades -- Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium and Martian Copper.
With the Orbiter, TVS aims to strengthen its EV portfolio in India. The company's iQube electric scooter competes with models such as the Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 series, and Ather 450X.
The Orbiter is expected to be available in key cities first, with deliveries beginning shortly.
