  • Tata Punch.ev facelift launches in India on Feb 20.
  • Will get updated front bumper, revised headlamps, LED taillamps, yellow shade.
  • Battery packs and motor options expected to remain similar to outgoing model.

Following the launch of the Punch facelift, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles is preparing to introduce the Punch.ev facelift in the Indian market. The updated version of the company's smallest electric SUV is scheduled to be launched on February 20.

While the internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the Punch received notable updates as part of its facelift, the Punch.ev facelift is expected to get relatively subtle changes.

It is important to note that, even in its pre-facelift form, the Tata Punch.ev was more feature-rich than the ICE-powered Punch.

That said, Tata has already revealed the front design of the Punch.ev facelift, which features an updated bumper and slightly revised headlamp clusters. The electric SUV is also expected to get new 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, it is likely to receive LED taillamps similar to those seen on the Punch facelift. There will also be a new shade of yellow, similar to the one that the Harrier gets.

The Tata Punch.ev is already a well-equipped model, offering features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, embedded navigation in the instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger and a voice-assisted electric sunroof. It remains to be seen what additional features Tata will introduce with the facelift.

Mechanically, the Punch.ev facelift is expected to continue with the same battery pack and motor options. The standard version uses a 25kWh battery pack paired with a 60kW/114Nm motor and claims a range of 315km on a single charge. The Long Range variant gets a 35kWh battery pack with a 90kW/190Nm motor and offers a claimed range of 421km.

The outgoing Tata Punch.ev is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted version is expected to be priced in a similar range, as any significant increase could push buyers towards the larger Tata Nexon.ev.
