Asia MotorWorks (AMW) became the first truck maker in India to take part in the 2012 Desert Storm Rally. AMW has entered four specially prepped for the rally 2523 trucks in the gruelling Ndure category. The trucks will be covering 3000kms in six days and will be travelling through the Great Rann of Kutch and Thar Desert. Similar to last year, even this year will have the challenging night stages. The event will end in Ahmedabad.

Noted ATV maker Polaris, who recently showcased their range of ATVs for the Indian market at the 2012 Auto Expo, have also entered their RZR800 and Sportsman 850 vehicles. To top it, Hero MotoCorp's off-road bike, the Impulse will also be seeing action in the rally. It has been entered by a private user though and not by the company.
