A division bench of Kerala High Court on Tuesday upheld the appeal made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) against Indian pacer S Sreesanth.

BCCI had appealed against the single bench verdict of the court that had lifted the life ban on the bowler in August.

The division bench of Chief Justice Navniti Prasad Singh ruled that the high court cannot conduct a judicial review on the life ban imposed by the BCCI, upholding the appeal.

The court hearing was on for the last two days. The verdict has ended Sreesanth's hopes of playing for Kerala in the Ranji Trophy.

Sreesanth is now expected to approach the Supreme Court, according to media reports.

The pacer had been charged for his involvement in the 2013 Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal. He was banned in September that year for his alleged involvement in the spot fixing case. Two of his other Rajasthan Royals teammates, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, were also charged.

Despite being acquitted in the spot-fixing case in July 2015, the BCCI had not revoked the life ban imposed on him.
