The Kerala High Court on Monday lifted the life ban imposed on S Sreesanth by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The pacer had been charged for his involvement in the 2013 Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal. He was banned in September that year for his alleged involvement in the spot fixing case. Two of his other Rajasthan Royals teammates Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, were also charged.

Despite being acquitted in the spot-fixing case in July 2015, the BCCI had not revoked the life ban imposed on him.

In May, the Kerala High Court had sought BCCI’s stand on the plea filed by Sreesanth which challenged the life ban imposed on him.

Following the judgement, Sreesanth said via Twitter, “God is great..thanks for the all the love and support”.
