Travel portal plans to boost domestic ops via AirAsia
While international online travel agency Airasia Expedia has grown in double digits over the past couple of years, based primarily on Indians flocking to south-east Asian destinations, the agency is pinning its hope on joint venture partner Airasia to give a fillip to its domestic business as well.

While international online travel agency Airasia Expedia has grown in double digits over the past couple of years, based primarily on Indians flocking to south-east Asian destinations, the agency is pinning its hope on joint venture partner Airasia to give a fillip to its domestic business as well. Southeast Asian destinations like Thailand, Bhutan, Cambodia and Vietnam have been immensely popular among Indian holidaymakers. Online travel agencies are doing brisk business as Indian travellers turn to Asian locales for vacations not only because of the close proximity of these countries, but also the deals they often find for flights and accommodation. Airasia Expedia hopes it can replicate this model in the Indian market.
