Republican congressional candidate Valentina Gomez promised to “end Islam in Texas once and for all”.

In a post on X, the Republican candidate vying for Texas' 31st Congressional District said even US President Donald Trump agreed that “Islam is a threat to America”.

“NYC will fall to mamdani & it’ll become the mecca of murder for Jews, Christians & Hindus. They chant “allahu akbar” I say go back to your Muslim nation. America is a Christian nation,” she wrote on X.

This is not the first time that Gomez stated that her objective was to "end Islam in Texas”. In August this year, Gomez drew widespread criticism after posting a campaign-style video in which she vowed to “end Islam” while setting fire to a copy of the Quran. Gomez, who is contesting Texas’s 31st Congressional District in the 2026 elections, shared the footage on X (formerly Twitter). The post was later deleted but clips of the video continue to circulate online.

In the video, she also urged   Muslims to leave the state, saying, "Muslims can f*** off to any of the 57 Muslim nations”.

Gomez, a self-proclaimed supporter of Trump and his Make America Great Again (MAGA) campaign, earlier accused the community of threatening Christian nations.
