Kashish Chaudhary has made history by becoming the first woman from the Pakistani Hindu minority community in Balochistan to be appointed Assistant Commissioner at just 25 years old.

Kashish is a native of Noshki town in the Chagai district, she cleared the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam — a remarkable personal achievement and a powerful symbol of hope for minority communities in the country.

Her appointment marks a significant step forward for women's empowerment and minority representation in Balochistan’s governance, particularly during a time of ongoing unrest in the region.

Chaudhary met Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti in Quetta accompanied by her father Girdhari Lal. "It is a matter of great pride for me that my daughter has become an assistant commissioner due to her hard work and commitment," her father told media. He said that his daughter had always dreamed of studying and doing something for women, reported PTI.

Balochistan Chief Minister Bugti called her appointment a matter of pride of province and nation. "Kashish is a symbol of pride for the nation and Balochistan," he said as quoted by PTI.

Who is Kashish Chaudhary? 

Kashish Chaudhary, from the remote town of Noshki in Balochistan’s Chagai district, has become the first woman from the Pakistani Hindu minority to be appointed Assistant Commissioner. Her father, Girdhari Lal, is a mid-level trader.

Chaudhary prepared for the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam for three years, dedicating at least eight hours daily to her studies. In an interview, she credited her success to discipline, hard work, and a strong desire to serve society. Her achievement marks a historic moment for women and minorities in Pakistan’s civil service.

In recent years, several Hindu women in Pakistan have achieved notable positions in public service, breaking cultural and social barriers.
