The funeral (Janaza-Ghaib) of Tahir Habib, a former Pakistan Army soldier and Lashkar-e-Taiba operative killed during Operation Mahadev in Jammu & Kashmir, was recently held in his hometown of Khai Gala in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, according to The Times of India.
Habib was among the militants involved in the April 22 attack in Pahalgam that left 26 civilians dead. His funeral is being seen as further evidence of Pakistan's involvement in the incident.
Elderly residents of Khai Gala in Rawalakot are seen gatehering to final prayers for Tahir Habib in the video and images shared on Telegram show.
However, the funeral took an unexpected turn when local LeT commander Rizwan Hanif attempted to join the ceremony. Habib’s family had explicitly barred LeT members from attending, resulting in a confrontation when Hanif insisted on participating.
