A senior Pakistani journalist and political commentator has bluntly exposed Islamabad’s vulnerabilities, admitting that the country has no credible missile defence system to counter Indian strikes. He also admitted that Indian forces, in May7-10 strikes on Pakistan, hit the latter’s parked planes at its airbases.
“As of now, you don’t have any S-400-type missile defence system, no Iron Dome, there is nothing to protect yourself against Indian missiles. India has demonstrated that the missile technology and missile accuracy they possess is capable of targeting both your airbases and your so-called offices of freedom fighters. So, your biggest problem is that if they launch missiles on your airbases, where your planes are parked, then there can be a lot of damage,” Sethi said while speaking to Samaa TV.

These remarks strike at the core of Pakistan’s propaganda campaign following Operation Sindoor, during which Indian air strikes destroyed multiple terror hubs and military-linked facilities across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Islamabad has consistently downplayed the damage, portraying the strikes as symbolic and ineffective. But Sethi’s words unravel those lies, confirming that Indian missile technology not only penetrated Pakistan’s weak air defences but also demonstrated devastating precision.
India’s strikes proved that it can target Pakistan’s critical airbases and terror infrastructure at will, while Pakistan has no mechanism to shield its aircraft, installations, or command centres. For a country that boasts about its military might and claims parity with India, this admission is humiliating.
While Islamabad continued to remain in denial about the scale of destruction caused by the Indian strikes, independent high-resolution satellite imagery later told a very different story. The images not only corroborated India’s claims but also provided clear visual evidence of extensive damage to several Pakistani airbases, as well as to infrastructure linked to terror safe havens. Runways bore the marks of direct hits, hangars and storage facilities showed visible impact, and adjoining compounds believed to be used by terror groups were reduced to rubble. This visual confirmation, sourced from international satellite firms and defence analysts, undercut Pakistan’s narrative and reinforced the credibility of India’s precision strikes.
