Elon Musk is actively working to expand his lineage, using his influence, wealth, and platform X to recruit women and propose surrogacy as a way to rapidly build a “legion” of children, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The report reveals that Musk’s approach involves a mix of financial incentives, legal agreements, and personal outreach. Ashley St Clair, a 26-year-old conservative influencer who gave birth to Musk’s 13th child in September, told the Journal that Musk had sent her numerous messages about his desire for more children. In one message, he reportedly wrote, “I want to knock you up again,” and suggested using surrogates to “reach legion-level before the apocalypse.”
Musk is publicly known to have fathered at least 14 children with four women: St Clair, musician Grimes, Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, and his ex-wife Justine Musk. However, WSJ sources suggest the actual number could be higher. One revelation includes Musk allegedly providing sperm to a high-profile Japanese woman after being approached by officials from Japan.
Zilis, who has four children with Musk, reportedly enjoys “special status” and has accompanied him to elite events, including diplomatic dinners and meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
St Clair recounted being offered $15 million and $100,000 a month in support, contingent on not naming Musk on the birth certificate and keeping his paternity secret. This offer came via Musk’s top aide, Jared Birchall, during her labour. Although she declined, she still omitted Musk’s name. After publicly confirming their relationship in February, the support reportedly dropped to $40,000 monthly, and later to $20,000.
The WSJ notes that Musk’s inner circle, managed by Birchall, operates under strict confidentiality agreements. Birchall allegedly described it as a “meritocracy,” where benefits increase “when people do good work.”
Musk’s prolific family planning stems from his belief that declining birthrates threaten civilisation. He has repeatedly said, “civilisation is going to crumble” without population growth.
Musk, the world’s richest man with an estimated net worth of $367.9 billion (Forbes), is also head of the Department of Government Efficiency under President Donald Trump and serves as an advisor in his cabinet.
