Since assuming office on January 20 this year in his second term, US President Donald Trump has spent USD 26 million on playing golf at one of his own courses, including Mar-a-Lago resort, his Palm Beach country club, according to a HuffPost report.
In these over two months, Trump has vacationed nearly every weekend and has played golf in all of these visits, which has cost US taxpayers millions, according to the report based on a 2019 Government Accountability Office report.
On Saturday, Trump visited his gold course in West Palm Beach. This was his 14th day at that course and 18th day on one of his courses since his January 20 inauguration.
According to the report, the total cost of Trump’s golf outings in his second term so far has been USD 26,127,531. This involves expenses incurred in moving his motorcade equipment and security, along with flying Air Force 1.
Notably, this figure of expense is based on 2017 costing, which will certainly be higher today.
During his first term, Trump’s golf adventure at his own resorts cost US taxpayers a whopping USD 151.5 million as the President spent 293 days at one of his courses over those four years.
