What was supposed to be a memorable night at a Coldplay concert turned into an unexpected PR disaster for tech executive Andy Byron. The Astronomer CEO is now at the center of an alleged workplace affair controversy after a viral video appeared to show him in an intimate moment with Kristin Cabot, the company’s Chief People Officer.
The incident took place during Coldplay’s concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, earlier this week. Frontman Chris Martin, while interacting with the crowd, unknowingly turned the spotlight on a couple caught on the stadium’s Kiss Cam.

The man and woman, later identified as Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot, were seen in each other’s arms before quickly trying to shield their faces as the camera zoomed in. “Oh what... either they're having an affair or they're very shy,” Martin joked to roaring laughter from the audience, unaware of what would unfold next online.
The viral moment took on new life after social media users began identifying the couple. Byron, 50, is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron and lives in Northborough, Massachusetts. The couple shares two children. Kristin Cabot is also reportedly married.
What amplified the backlash was their shared workplace connection, Byron is Cabot’s boss, adding layers of professional implications to the alleged affair. Users on X (formerly Twitter) claimed that even more explosive details were circulating internally at Astronomer, a startup recently valued at over $1 billion.
“So basically, the Coldplay concert guy (married), CEO of a tech company, was having an affair with his head of HR (also married),” one user posted, “and they brought the HR chief’s newly promoted underling to cover for their tryst.”

What’s at stake for Astronomer?
Astronomer, a private data infrastructure firm that achieved unicorn status in 2022, recently moved its headquarters to New York City. Byron joined as CEO in July 2023 after senior roles at Lacework, Cybereason, Fuze, and BMC Software.
The company has not issued a public statement yet, but the situation raises obvious questions about corporate governance, workplace ethics, and internal culture, especially when top leadership is involved.
The personal fallout: Wife reportedly reacts online
According to multiple users tracking the incident, Byron’s wife has removed his surname from her social media bios. One post read, “Andy Byron’s poor wife will wake up this morning and her entire world will collapse.”
