Barron Trump, the youngest son of US President Donald Trump, reportedly shut down an entire floor of Trump Tower in Manhattan for a private date, with security cited as the main reason, according to Page Six.
Donald Trump’s youngest son reportedly hosted a crush at the family’s Manhattan skyscraper. Sources told Page Six that the move was not about showcasing the tower, but rather about safety. Shutting down a full floor was protocol, not indulgence.
This isn’t the first time Barron has had to adapt his social life around security. Earlier this year, friends said he avoided sharing his phone number at school to prevent it from being leaked. He instead communicates via Xbox chat and Discord. “If people got his number, they’d share it,” one friend explained. “The phone would never stop, and he’d have to change it nonstop. It’d just be a merry-go-round.”
Barron, who turned 19 in March, has also drawn attention beyond his security bubble. In March, he was photographed arriving at Trump Tower with Melania Trump, wearing a Rolex reportedly worth nearly $50,000. Forbes recently estimated his net worth to be around $150 million, citing his cryptocurrency investments.
Though often spotted in New York, Barron is currently based in Washington, D.C., where he started classes at New York University’s Washington campus last month. The program includes courses in politics, history, economics, journalism, and public policy.
Students on NYU’s Greenwich Village campus previously said Barron stood out. “He’s tall and awkward, but he was the guy. He had a lot of girls running after him,” one student told Page Six. Another told People, “He’s a ladies’ man for sure — tall, handsome, and really popular with the girls. A lot of people think he’s attractive.”
Born in 2006, Barron is the only child of Donald and Melania Trump. Trump often praises him as “a great kid, tall, handsome, a great student who likes politics.”
The NY Post reported that Barron shut down a floor of Trump Tower in Manhattan for privacy and safety while hosting a date. As the child of a sitting president, he is routinely accompanied by Secret Service agents.
Barron is beginning his second year of college at NYU’s Washington, D.C. campus and will spend part of the school year in the capital. During his freshman year, he lived in Trump Tower while commuting to NYU’s main campus in Greenwich Village and occasionally traveled to Mar-a-Lago to see his father.
Trump has previously spoken about his youngest son, telling Philadelphia’s Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, “He’s a little on the tall side. I will tell you, he’s a tall one, but he is a good-looking guy. And he’s really been a great student. And he does like politics. It’s sort of funny.”
