Indian Railways is all set to launch the highly anticipated Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, offering an exciting new way to travel long distances faster and more comfortably than ever before. Built by BEML using cutting-edge ICF (Integral Coach Factory) technology, the sleeper version of the Vande Bharat Express is set to redefine travel experiences across India. Unveiled by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in September 2024, this state-of-the-art train will be the go-to option for passengers traveling between Delhi and Howrah.

Key Features of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train

The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will cover a distance of 1,449 km between Delhi and Howrah in under 15 hours, making it significantly faster than most trains currently operating on this route. Running at speeds of 160–180 km/h, this new train will be the fastest option on the Delhi-Howrah route, surpassing other trains in terms of speed and efficiency.

Stops at Major Junctions for Better Connectivity

With stops at major railway junctions such as Kanpur Central, Prayagraj Junction, DD Upadhyaya Junction, Gaya Junction, Dhanbad Junction, and Asansol Junction, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is designed to serve passengers from multiple states. This connectivity will make it a premium travel option for people across North and East India, ensuring smoother and more convenient journeys.

Comfortable Travel with Various Classes

The Vande Bharat Sleeper will consist of 16 coaches, featuring:

  • 11 AC 3-tier coaches for budget-conscious passengers
  • 4 AC 2-tier coaches for those seeking a more luxurious experience
  • 1 First-Class AC coach for premium travelers

These class options will ensure that passengers can choose a seat based on their budget and comfort preferences.

Affordable Fares for Premium Travel

While the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train offers a premium travel experience, it remains affordable for most passengers. Here are the expected fare details:

  • AC 3-tier: Rs 3,000 (approx.)
  • AC 2-tier: Rs 4,000 (approx.)
  • First-Class AC: Rs 5,100 (approx.)

These competitive fares offer excellent value for money, considering the speed, comfort, and convenience the train will provide.

Transforming Travel in North and East India

Once launched, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will become the third premium option on the busy Delhi-Howrah route, alongside the Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express. With its faster travel times, superior comfort, and enhanced safety features, this train will become a game-changer for travelers making the journey between North and East India.

Whether you're traveling for work, visiting family, or exploring new destinations, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train promises to be the ideal choice for a quicker, smoother, and more comfortable long-distance journey. Stay tuned for the official launch and get ready to experience the future of train travel in India!
