The Mussoorie Hills in Uttarakhand witnessed the first-ever “Prakriti Ki Aarti,” a unique musical tribute to nature, held as part of the Aaroha Spiritual Musical Wellness Retreat. The event was conducted at the Punarnava Wellness Resort, bringing together prominent Indian classical and folk artists to celebrate music, spirituality, and the natural world.
The aarti was led by Vaishnavacharya Jai Jai Sri Abhishek Goswami Maharaj, accompanied by renowned performers, including Padma Shri Ustad Anwar Khan Manganiyar, Grammy-nominated flutist Pt. Ajay Prasanna, and Hindustani classical vocalist Meeta Pandit. The event combined soulful performances with a focus on environmental awareness and wellness.
Highlights of the retreat included “Evoking the Divine,” a spiritual invocation by Goswami Maharaj, followed by captivating performances such as “Thumri in the Hills” by Pandit and “The Manganiyar Magic” led by Manganiyar.
Organizers chose Dehradun for its serene environment and proximity to the Himalayas. Speaking about the event, Goswami Maharaj said, “The Himalayas, with their rich flora and fauna, are the perfect setting to offer prayers to Mother Nature.”
The event emphasized the importance of reconnecting with nature through music and spirituality. Attendees described the experience as deeply rejuvenating, with a blend of cultural heritage and environmental consciousness.
This initiative has been hailed as a significant step in promoting wellness tourism and environmental awareness in Uttarakhand.
