UIDAI has launched a national mascot design challenge on the MyGov platform to crowdsource a character that captures Aadhaar’s values of trust, inclusivity, empowerment and innovation. The selected mascot will be used in UIDAI’s communication and citizen-facing awareness campaigns at scale. The competition carries a top cash reward of Rs 50,000 for the best entry.
Participation details
The contest is open to all Indian citizens without restriction on age or profession. Individuals and teams can participate, but only one entry is allowed per person or group. The mascot must be an original creation and must not copy or adapt any existing characters, trademarks or copyrighted work. The character should be simple, relatable and usable in different media formats including posters, digital screens and event merchandising. Each submission must include a concept note explaining the visual logic, colour selection and the link to UIDAI’s core themes.
How to submit
Entries must be uploaded exclusively via the designated contest page on MyGov within the notified window. Submissions by email or any channel outside MyGov are not accepted. After upload, UIDAI will evaluate eligible entries through its review process. Shortlisted participants may be asked to provide editable source files. Participation implies acceptance of the contest rules, including UIDAI’s rights to use, adapt and deploy the winning design in official communication.
Prize money
The first-ranked mascot entry will receive Rs 50,000 along with formal recognition. Runner-up positions are also entitled to cash rewards, and shortlisted designs will receive certificates. The final mascot will become part of UIDAI’s public-facing identity after approval.
Dates and deadlines
The contest is open only for a limited submission window on MyGov. Entries received after the deadline will not be considered. Final results will be announced through UIDAI and MyGov communication once evaluation is complete.
Purpose of the initiative
UIDAI is using this challenge to bring public participation into the Aadhaar communication ecosystem. By crowdsourcing a mascot from citizens, the authority aims to create a character that people can relate to while reinforcing Aadhaar’s role in secure, inclusive digital identity delivery.
