Snapdragon 8 Elite announced

Qualcomm has announced its most powerful mobile platform – Snapdragon 8 Elite – at the Snapdragon Summit 2024 event in Hawaii. The new flagship chipset is designed for flagship Android devices set to arrive later this year. Also, the 8 Elite is powered by the company’s next-generation custom Oryon CPU. The company claims that this is their fastest mobile system-on-a-chip ever.

In addition, the Snapdragon 8 Elite has improved on-device AI processing power and can handle multi-modal AI right on the device with the new Qualcomm Hexagon NPU.

Apart from this, the chip also comes with a new Adreno GPU to handle graphics duties on devices powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Phones to launch based on Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset

During the Snapdragon Summit, Qualcomm has confirmed that smartphone brands like Asus, Honor, iQoo, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Samsung, Vivo, Xiaomi and others are set to launch new smartphones and devices that will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip in coming weeks.
