Apple's iPhone 17 series is expected to arrive in September this year, and the frequency of leaks surrounding the iPhone 17 family, including the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Air, is starting to increase. Previously, dummy units of Apple's 2025 flagship phones were leaked online, and now we've got a different batch to pore over. These new leaked images reveal that the iPhone 17 Pro series could arrive with larger camera modules, featuring a rear panel made of glass and aluminium.
Apple iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max: Expected design changes
New leaked images, shared on X by tipster Sonny Dickson, suggest that Apple could introduce major changes to the iPhone 17 Pro models, while the standard iPhone 17 smartphones may retain the iPhone 16 series design. The new dummy units seen in the leaked image have an enlarged rear camera island, unlike their predecessors.
Right under the main camera module, there seems to be a separate section, which previously some reports suggested could be made of glass to accommodate MagSafe and wireless charging. This could explain why Apple might be opting for a dual-tone design, with the camera module and sides made of aluminium and the rest from glass.
The extra metal on the back of the iPhone 17 Pro models should increase the rigidity of these upcoming smartphones. However, while the Pro models are set to undergo visible design changes, the standard iPhone 17 may not see significant aesthetic changes as the leaked dummy units reveal that these devices will retain a vertical camera arrangement without any separate camera island.
