A free-to-play demo of Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, the upcoming action role-playing game by Netmarble has arrived on Valve’s Steam platform. The Game of Thrones Kingsroad demo is available till March 3, 2025, as part of the Steam Next Fest that showcases demos of yet-to-be-launched titles on the platform.

The demo of Game of Thrones Kingsroad gives players the first taste of Netmarble's third-person action RPG set in the fictional continent of Westeros. You get to explore iconic locations featured in George RR Martin’s fantasy books and the HBO TV show like The Wall and Winterfell. Players can also take part in special demo events to get in-game rewards.

Game of Thrones Kingsroad demo: New improvements

Netmarble updated the Game of Thrones Kingsroad Demo with the ‘Seamless Access via Steam’ feature and numerous bug fixes and optimisations recently. A seamless Steam access means you don’t have to login to Netmarble to be able to play the demo; just logging into your Steam account would be enough. As for bug fixes and game optimisation, Netmarble said in a Steam post that they “are actively identifying and addressing various minor issues to enhance stability and gameplay” in Game of Thrones Kingsroad demo.

Game of Thrones Kingsroad: Demo events and rewards

Game of Thrones Kingsroad demo players can participate in various in-game events. These include:

• Check-in rewards: Log in in daily for five consecutive days to get in-game items.
• Milestone rewards: Defeat major enemies like Stel, reach important milestones and complete the main quest to get rewards.
• Exploration rewards: Clear enemy hideouts, hunt beasts and complete Echoes of the Past activities to get bonuses.Game of Thrones Kingsroad: Additional language support is coming “While the demo currently supports five languages, additional languages will be available upon full release”, Netmarble said in the post on Steam. The South Korean developer added that it was “closely monitoring the demo period and player responses”, which would allow it “to implement necessary changes quickly” Game of Thrones Kingsroad: Release timeline Netmarble plans to release Game of Thrones: Kingsroad on PC, Android and iOS in Q2 2025. The release date of the Game of Thrones RPG is yet to be confirmed.
