Dyson has launched a new latest hair dryer, the Supersonic r, is its most compact and lightweight model yet. The hair dryer which was primarily designed for the professional stylists, is now available for the regular users as well. Dyson claims it dries hair fast but without damaging the skull with excessive heat. Notably, the hair dryer is available in the US and will soon be available in parts of Europe. Dyson is yet to reveal whether the hair dryer will be available in India or not.

Dyson Supersonic r features

The Supersonic r is 30 percent smaller and 20 percent lighter than the original Supersonic. It packs Dyson’s high-speed airflow technology, which dries hair quickly while maintaining shine and reducing frizz.

The motor which spins at 130,000 RPM is placed in the handle for better weight distribution. The dryer also features three disc-shaped heating elements that ensure even heat distribution, avoiding cold spots that can disrupt styling.

Attachments and customisation

The Supersonic r comes with magnetic attachments designed for different hair types. Users can choose between Straight-Wavy or Curly-Coily attachments for a tailored styling experience. The attachments are equipped with RFID technology, which allows the dryer to automatically adjust its heat and power settings based on the accessory in use.

The Supersonic r joins Dyson’s growing range of hair products such as the original Supersonic, the Supersonic Nural which is designed for scalp care, and styling devices like the Airwrap, Airstrait, and Corrale. Dyson is also rolling out its Chitosan hair care formulations in more markets this year.
