Krafton India has rolled out the BGMI 4.1 update, introducing a festive set of winter features, India-focused content and major gameplay systems timed for the year’s final season. The update blends a new winter battleground, an India-exclusive horror encounter, a refreshed survival mode and several performance improvements across maps and events.
Frosty Funland brings a winter-themed battleground
The update’s headline feature is Frosty Funland, a seasonal mode that turns part of Erangel into a snow-filled zone with a themed area called Penguinville. This region includes multiple mini Snow Festival villages, NPC interactions, photo zones and small events that reward players for exploration. New tactical items include Magic Ice Skates that create temporary ice paths, the Winterland Kar-98K with ice-charged rounds and the Swordfish Syringe that can be thrown to heal or speed up teammates.
A four-seater Penguin Snowmobile is also available, enabling snowball-pushing mechanics and co-passenger boosting. Players can collect Glacier Animal Marks to unlock items or interact with Penguin NPC shops offering free selections. The mode also introduces POWNIN, a Ninja Penguin companion with shuriken throws, short-range teleport abilities and supply-sharing behaviour.
Anamika, the Haunted Indian Bride, adds a homegrown horror twist
The update also debuts Anamika, a Non-Playable Character that appears in Erangel as part of an India-exclusive horror event. Players can engage her for loot, hour-based cooldown rewards, themed items and Lucky Spin benefits. Her encounters may trigger boss tokens, which can be exchanged for rewards in the Play & Win shop.
Boss mechanics include knock-back charges, teleportation and damage-over-time claw strikes when players get too close. The event also ties in with the return of popular creator voice packs, expanding India-focused content in the game.
Metro Royale returns with deeper survival progression
Metro Royale makes a comeback as a hybrid survival experience across enclosed maps with AI enemies, high-risk loot zones and extraction-based progression. Players must extract successfully to retain items. The mode now features a full seasonal framework with chapter rewards and permanent unlocks.
NPC relationship systems receive updates through a Command Centre that allows gifting, improved information on rewards and daily limits. New onboarding cues, refreshed reputation levels and faster pacing aim to make the mode more approachable.
Porsche supercar and core gameplay upgrades
A Porsche supercar joins the game as a high-speed vehicle in Speed Drift, adding a realistic driving option across maps. Gameplay optimisation includes custom round selection for solo players, seasonal treasure chests, one-tap loot sharing in squads and improved weekly mission flow.
Winter events and India-focused rewards
The 4.1 update includes exchange centres offering themed rewards through November to January. Players can participate in the Winter Warfare Exchange Centre, Rocket Exchange Centre and weekend sessions that provide outfits, covers and parachutes for continuous play. The Mahindra BE6 vehicle spin also returns, extending India-inspired items for the season.
The BGMI 4.1 update builds a festival-aligned experience with both global and India-centric elements, bringing fresh modes, events and winter gameplay to close out the year.
