With four developer betas already out and no appearance of any Apple Intelligence features, the writing is perhaps on the wall. There could be a delay in Apple Intelligence features with the rollout of iOS 18. A report by Bloomberg suggests that Apple has decided to postpone the release of its highly anticipated Apple Intelligence features on iOS 18. The tech giant is aiming for a smoother user experience and is taking extra time to perhaps refine the AI capabilities before a wider rollout.
However, the developer beta could see roll out of some Apple Intelligence features as soon as this week. The report mentions that Apple Intelligence features like Genmoji and Image Playground could make the cut in the next developer beta.
As far as all the Apple Intelligence features are concerned, Apple Intelligence will now arrive in a subsequent update scheduled for October. The move doesn’t come as a surprise as Apple is unlikely to rise things. The priority for Apple will be stability and performance over rushing to market with potentially buggy features.
“In order to ensure a smooth consumer release of its big bet on AI, Apple needs support from developers to help iron out issues and test features on a wider scale,” notes the report.
According to the report, Apple is expected to roll out all the Apple Intelligence features “multiple updates to iOS 18 across the end of 2024 and through the first half of 2025.”
What this also means is that the iPhone 16 line up of devices — expected to launch in September — will not come with Apple Intelligence features out of the box.
