To comply with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) directive, Bharti Airtel has revised the benefits of two prepaid plans. If you are unaware, the directive requires telecom operators to offer Special Tariff Vouchers (STVs) with voice and SMS services. The changes applies to the Rs 509 and Rs 1,999 prepaid plans and both now come with slightly reduced benefits than before.
Airtel Rs 509 prepaid plan: Benefits
The Rs 509 plan offers a validity of 84 days and includes unlimited voice calls and 900 free SMS. Users also receive additional benefits such as access to the Airtel Xstream app, Apollo 24/7 Circle membership, and free Hello Tunes. The big change here is the lack of data which earlier was 6GB with this plan.
For those who require some mobile data in addition to voice and SMS benefits, Airtel has a Rs 569 plan. It includes the same validity and voice and SMS features but adds 6GB of mobile data.
Airtel Rs 1,999 annual prepaid plan: Benefits
The Rs 1,999 annual prepaid plan has also been revised. Previously, the plan offered unlimited voice calls, 3,000 free SMS, and 24GB of mobile data. The updated version of the plan no longer includes any mobile data but retains unlimited voice calling and SMS benefits. Additional features include access to the Airtel Xstream app, Apollo 24/7 Circle membership, and free Hello Tunes.
Changes for both the prepaid plans have been updated and the same is reflected on their official website as well. Users can also recharge these plans via the Airtel Thanks app, website as well as other online and offline recharge platforms.
