Speaking at the Nasscom Technology and Leadership Forum 2025, top IT leaders on February 24 shared insights of how the business is being reshaped by artificial intelligence.
C Vijaya Kumar, Managing director of HCLTech has said Indian IT needs to dramatically change its business model which is 'ripe for disruption' in this age of AI, become proactive as well as ready to cannibalise some of the revenue. He added that open source business models may not continue to be open source and could become 'coins for geopolitical exchange'.
Kumar said it will be important to explore if companies can create twice the value from existing employees. There is a need to build own models, and find ways of creating training infrastructure economically.
Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said the company has been able to generate revenue from Generative AI, which is expanding the market for newer projects. The company sees massive productivity boost from AI, CEO Salil Parekh added.
