India lost 1-2 against Belgium in hockey, our star badminton pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty were eliminated from the quarterfinals. Nikhat Zareen too was eliminated from the Paris Games after conceding a unanimous decision loss in the round of 16 bout of women's 50kg division.

Paris Olympics 2024 live: Satwik and Chirag produce a great show, reflecting the chemistry the two share. They engage in a rally, following which Chirag spots an opening and shouts "maar", which means hit and Satwik hits a perfect cross court smash to win the point.

Satwik and Chirag then go on to take the first game and in a very dominant manner. IND 21-13 MAS (Game 1)

Paris Olympics 2024 live: Satwiksairaj and Chirag Shetty take four consecutive points after the mid-game interval and gain a healthy five-point lead.

Malaysia take the next point, following that India once again breaks the serve, restoring their five-point advantage. IND 16-11 MAS (Game 1)

Remember they are the first Indian men's pair to reach the quarterfinal of an Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, Sift Kaur Samra manages 96 in Series 2 of the prone round and is also lagging pretty behind from the qualification zone.

We have one more round, which is standing left in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions qualification and India need to stage a dramatic comeback to make it to the medal round.

Anjum Moudgil manages a total of 97 points after Series 1, while Sift Kaur Samra scores 99 after the same.

The Indians are lagging behind at the moment but are not very far from Top 8.

Paris Olympics 2024 live: Soon we'll have our shuttlers in action, which begins with men's doubles. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty take on  Aaron Chia and Wooi Yik Soh of Malaysia at 4:30 pm IST.

Then we have an all India clash between Lakshya Sen and HS Prannoy in the men's round of 16 badminton tie, which will start somewhere around 5:40 pm.

The kneeling round is over for Anjum, who manages 97, and 99 in Series 1 and 2, taking her total to 196-8x.

Sift Kaur manages 96, and 97 in her two Series of the kneeling round and has 193-8x under her name.

Both are currently below Top 8, the qualification mark of the event.

Paris Olympics 2024 live: Apart from the bronze in men's 50m rifle 3 positions, the Indian outing has so far been pretty disappointing, with Nikhat Zareen topping the list.

In addition to that Pravin Jadhav endures a 0-6 loss against China's Wenchao Kao in the men's individual 1/32 elimination round archery.

Paris Olympics 2024 live: India endure a tough 1-2 loss against Belgium in the Pool B encounter. The Indian unit had taken a lead in the second quarter, but Belgium came from behind to snatch the win from Harmanpreet Singh and Co.

The defeat won't hurt India much as they have qualified for the quarterfinal but a win would have been a much better scenario. Also this if India's first defeat in hockey at the ongoing Paris Games.

Paris Olympics 2024 live: We are done with the third round and the Chinese looks pretty confident that she has done her job right, which appears to be the case. However, we wait for the judges verdict, who declare Wu Yu the winner by unanimous decision.

Heartbreak for India as the country's top medal prospect crashes out of the Paris Olympics.

Paris Olympics 2024 live: Nikhat Zareen manages to connect not one but two solid punches against China's Wu Yu in Round 2. She also throws a lot of punches as compared to the opening round, which includes a couple of body shots.

Three judges, however, rule the round in Wu Yu's verdict, leaving Nikhat the job of catching up in final round.

Paris Olympics 2024 live: Nikhat Zareen maintains initial distance, allows her opponent to attack first, which she comfortably dodges. She then keeps things moving and lands a few jabs on the Chinese.

The Chinese, however, closes the round by connecting a solid jab on Nikhat in the final 10 seconds of the bout. Four of the judges rule the round in the Chinese's favour.

Meanwhile, Paramjeet Singh is in the 40th position at the moment. And Vikash Singh is coming 30th at the moment.

Men's Individual Finals: Gaganjeet Bhullar and Shubhankar Sharma -- 12.30 pm

One of India's top medal contender Nikhat Zareen will be in action in the women's 50kg round of 16 bout against China's Yu Wu, which is scheduled for 2:30 pm.

The Indian hockey team will look to continue the winning momentum against a tough Belgian side in a Pool B encounter. However, it can be deemed as a dead rubber as India have already qualified for the quarterfinals. India started their campaign with a 3-2 win against New Zealand but were held 1-1 by Argentina in their next encounter. India, however, returned to winning ways and defeated Ireland 2-0, displaying more intensity throughout the 60 minutes.

On Day 6, Kusale will once again lead the headlines as he will look to increase India's medal tally. He takes part in the men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions final, which is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm IST. Meanwhile, Sift Kaur Samra and Anjum Moudgil will also be in action in the women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions qualification.

India's outing on Day 5 of the Paris Olympics was quite a remarkable one, starting with badminton. PV Sindhu crushed her opponent from Estonia, but it Lakshya Sen, who grabbed most spotlight in badminton. The 22-year-old shuttler came over a big hurdle in Jonatan Christie, defeating him in straight games and advancing to the round-of-16. Apart from him, one of India's most reputed archer Deepika Kumari also had a good outing, winning both her elimination matches. Swapnil Kusale too scripted history by become the first Indian shooter to qualify for the men's 50m rifle 3 positions final.
