WPL 2025: The third season of the India's women's franchise-based cricket league, WPL (Women's Premier League) 2025 season is set to begin on Friday (February 14). The opening game will take place between defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Giants. The five-team tournament will be played across a total of four venues this season, which is the highest number of venues in all the three editions so far. The WPL 2025 will have 20 group-stage matches and two knockout games, including the finale on March 15.
Just like the previous editions, WPL 2025 will also follow its standard round-robin format, followed by knockout matches. Each of the five participating teams will compete twice against every other team during the round-robin stage. A victory will earn a team two points, while in the event of an abandoned match, both teams will receive one point each.
After the round-robin stage, the top-ranked team will advance directly to the final. Meanwhile, the teams finishing in second and third place will compete in an eliminator match to determine the second finalist. The winner of the final will then be crowned the WPL 2025 champions.
