The big hits at 'The Hundred' tournament in England are coming thick and fast, and one from Kieron Pollard’s bat nearly took out the commentators at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Monday.
While batting for Southern Brave, the Caribbean powerhouse Kieron Pollard smashed Welsh Fire’s Pakistani bowler Haris Rauf for a six towards backward square leg. With the commentary box located at ground level in that direction, the ball appeared to be heading straight for the glass window of the box, prompting commentators, including Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara, to take evasive action, which was captured on camera.

Fortunately, the ball fell just short and struck the electronic boundary board.
Pollard scored 17 off 12 balls in Southern Brave’s total of 139 while batting first. In reply, Welsh Fire were bowled out for 97 with five balls to spare, giving Southern Brave a commanding 42-run victory.
