India captain Suryakumar Yadav made it clear there will be no shortage of "aggression" in the much debated Asia Cup match against Pakistan. India will play their first Group A encounter of the continental showdown, which is set to be played in a T20I format, against the UAE on Wednesday. On Sunday, they will play their bitter rivals, Pakistan.
"Aggression is always there when we take the field. Without it, I don't think you can play this sport. I'm very excited to take the field tomorrow. You don't need to say anything to any player - everyone is different and knows how to bring their best," Suryakumar responded when asked about managing aggression on the field in the press conference in Dubai on Tuesday.

Pakistan captain Salman Agha also suggested an intense match on September 14 and showed no interest in defusing the situation, adding that he would not stop anyone from showing aggression as long as the battle stays on the field.
"You don't need to say anything to anyone. If anyone wants to be aggressive, they are more than welcome to do that. The fast bowlers, they always want to be aggressive, because that's what keeps them going. If anyone wants to be aggressive, they are more than welcome to do that. From my side, there is no instruction to anyone as long as they keep it on the ground," Salman Agha said.
This will be the first meeting between India and Pakistan post Operation Sindoor, India's retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives. This escalated tensions between the two nations, and threatened to blow into a full-fledged war before a ceasefire was announced.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) was temporarily halted in May as a result. In addition, the India Legends unit also declined to play against Pakistan in both the tournament's league and semi-final matches at the World Legends League.
