The audience would keenly await the battle between Shashank Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal as Punjab Kings take on Rajastahn Royals. Royals lost Nandre Burger who was out injured in their previous game against Gujarat Titans. Trent Boult also bowled just two overs and was not brought back in the death. Royals would want their strike bowler Boult to be fit and fire for them. Kuldeep Sen is likely to keep his place after a good showing in the previous game. If Burger is fit, he is likely to walk back into the XII and be one of the Impact Player options. There is no clarity on Sandeep Sharma's availability as well.

Punjab Kings are desperately looking at the fitness report of Liam Livingstone. Kings went with an unchanged line-up in their last game against SRH. Fast bowling coach didn't share much and said that they "will make a decision tomorrow". If fit, he could replace Sikandar Raza in the XII. Subbing out Arshdeep Singh for Prabhsimran Singh or Ashutosh Sharma and vice-versa have been consistent practice by the Kings and that is likely to remain unchanged.

The pitch at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Cricket Stadium at Mullanpur is one of the fastest in the tournament and offers extra bounce for fast bowlers. Batsmen struggle here, especially with the new ball. Dew also affects play, so the captain who wins the toss usually chooses to bowl first.

Mullanpur stadium is comparatively new venue and had host only two IPL matches so far, it’s difficult to assess the toss outcome. However, weather conditions are expected to be pleasant in the evening and dew factor will also play a part in the match. The team who wins the toss would prefer to bowl first and chase in the second innings as dew will make bowling difficult in the second inning.
