PBKS vs DC, IPL 2025: Punjab Kings (PBKS) will for yet another strong show and strengthen their playoff chances when they host Delhi Capitals (DC) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Thursday. Punjab are placed third on the points table with seven wins from 11 encounters. They also shared spoils with the Kolkata Knight Riders in one of those 11 encounters, taking their points tally to 15 - one behind first and second placed Gujarat Titans and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. A win on Thursday will take PBKS to top of the table.

DC, on the other hand, have witnessed a late slump in form and were saved by rain gods in their previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad. The road would have been tougher for the Axar Patel-led unit had rain stayed away from the contest. The unit were rocked early by Pat Cummins pace and were eventually restricted at a platry 133/7 in 20 overs. SRH never got a chance to bat but given their explosive line-up the Orange Army were certain favourites in the clash.

However, it is done now and DC will look to find their lost rhythm off late and make a case for themselves in the intense playoffs race. With four victories in a row, DC made an incredible start to IPL 2025 but they now find themselves in fifth position after a string of losses.

Teams will need to exercise greater caution when implementing their game plans as the tournament draws to a close, particularly those that are close to making it to the playoffs. No teams have formally qualified for the playoffs as of yet.

PBKS vs DC, IPL 2025: What to expect

The pitch at HPCA is anticipated to help the batters but pacers too will have a role to play, particularly in the innitial part of the innings. Meanwhile, 8 of the 13 games have been won by the side that has batted first at the HPCA stadium, and five by the team chasing.

Rain threat also looms large in Dharamsala, with forecast showing 75 percent chance of rain. The temperature is expected to hover between 17-21 degrees Celsius.
