On a slow Wankhede pitch, Mumbai Indians bowlers stifled Sunrisers Hyderabad batsmen and restricted the latter to 162/5. SRH took a couple of wickets in one over at the death - Hardik Pandya and Naman Dhir departing inside three balls. But by then, the game was done and dusted. MI reached 166/6 in 18.1 overs to win by four wickets.

MI won an important toss, for as the game progressed, dew made its presence felt. Bowling first, MI made the best use of the conditions. But who would know that Will Jacks's seemingly innocuous off-spin was going to be that impactful. He bossed the SRH top order, returning with 2/14 from three overs. The Surrey man accounted for the dangerous Travis Head (28, 29 balls) and Ishan Kishan (2).

Before that, Abhishek Sharma, fresh from his blazing hundred in the last game against Punjab Kings, perished to Pandya. The SRH opener wasn't quite at his fluent best, but 40 off 28 balls, including seven fours on that pitch was a commendable effort.

Heinrich Klassen was growing into the game. He scored 37 off 28 balls, hitting three fours and two sixes. Another couple of overs of him, and SRH might have reached 180 - a very good total on this surface. But Jasprit Bumrah, who else, castled him. Only his third game after coming back from a long injury lay-off, but the fast bowler returned with 1/21 from his four overs. He is indeed special.

When MI batted, Rohit Sharma flattered to deceive. A few plays and misses followed by an agricultural shot against Mohammed Shami that went for a six over the third man boundary. The veteran opener then gloriously pulled Shami over the deep square fence followed by another maximum against Pat Cummins. Just when it felt like Rohit was getting into the groove, he got out to a full-toss from the SRH captain. He scored 26 off 16 balls.

Ryan Rickelton played his hand, scoring 31 off 23 balls. Suryakumar Yadav (26, 15 balls) and Jacks (36, 26 balls) stitched a 52-run third wicket partnership. Pandya's 21 off nine balls hurried his team towards victory.

Back-to-back wins for MI now, as SRH once again failed to unlock the slow-turner secret.
