LSG vs PBKS Highlights, IPL 2025: Arshdeep Singh took 3 wickets and Prabhsimran Singh smashed 69 as Punjab Kings (PBKS) registered their second victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 edition with an 8-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday.
With this win, Punjab jumped to the second spot in the points table as they chased down a 172-run target in 16.2 overs. Here are the five moments that made the difference between victory and defeat:
Arshdeep Singh’s three-wicket haul:
Arshdeep Singh packs Mitchell Marsh for 0
LSG opener Mitchell Marsh scored 52 in their IPL opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and followed it up with 72 against Delhi Capitals (DC). LSG were looking for another fine knock by the Aussie but he was dismissed by Arshdeep for a golden duck with a delivery that gripped off the surface. Marsh was surprised by the away movement of the ball and ended up getting a leading edge towards backward point where Marso Jansen ran in from short third run man to take it safely.
Arshdeep also dismissed Ayush Badoni (41) and Abdul Samad (27) in the last over of the LSG innings to restrict them to 171/7.
Another failure for Rishabh Pant:
Rishabh Pant departs for 2
When you are the most expensive player in IPL auction history and on top of that, you are the captain of the team, a third consecutive failure is sure to pinch you. LSG captain Rishabh Pant must be feeling the pressure as he was dismissed for another low score today falling to Glenn Maxwell for 2.
Against SRH, Pant had scored 15 and before that, was dismissed for a duck against his old team DC.
Man of the match Prabhsimran Singh:
Prabhsimran Singh won the battle of the keeper-batters as he gave the Punjab run chase a flying start. Prabhsimran top scored for his team with 69-run knock that came off 34 balls and was studded with 3 sixes and 9 fours. Prabhsimran, who has been with Punjab for about 6 years, treated the pacers and spinners alike, belting the ball to all parts of the ground, taking the match away from LSG in a flash.
Shreyas Iyer’s effortless knock:

Ever since he has been removed from the BCCI central contracts, Shreyas Iyer has been in excellent form. On Tuesday too the Punjab captain led from the front hitting 4 sixes and 3 fours in his unbeaten 52 that came off 30 balls. Punjab registered their second successive win and the icing on the cake was Iyer finishing off the match with a six.
Nehal Wadhera’s support act:
Nehal Wadhera was left out in the previous game, but the left-handed batsman made the most of his chances by remaining unbeaten on a 25-ball 43 with the help of 4 sixes and 3 fours. In the 16th over of the Punjab run chase, Wadhera smashed Shardul Thakur for two consecutive sixes and then a four to level the scores, leaving it upto his captain to do the rest, which Iyer did with aplomb.
