The two-time finalists, GT look like a shadow of their former selves in their last outing with a below-par performance. The 2022 champions might have tasted victory in their opening game against Mumbai Indians but they fell to a deflating defeat against Chennai Super Kings.

There will be no let-up for last season's finalists as they face SRH, who are fresh from their exhilarating display against Mumbai Indians. The Hyderabad-based franchise is coming on the back of a record-breaking 277 against Mumbai Indians in their first win of the season.

GT facing unfamiliar woes

Mohammed Shami's absence has hit the Titans hard this season. The ace pacer was ruled out of IPL 2024 with an ankle injury and Umesh Yadav has failed to live up to the expectations as his replacement. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya's leadership and all-round skills have been a massive miss for the Titans. Albeit, the former GT captain has failed to deliver for Mumbai in all his roles - as captain, batter and bowler.

While it's too early to say that Shubman Gill's form has been affected by the burden of leadership responsibility, he has to find form quickly to bury this notion. Ahmedabad in the pass two seasons has been his happy hunting ground where he has compiled 700 runs in 13 innings, averaging almost 64 with an impressive strike rate of about 160.
Top guns struggling to fire

The top batting over has been GT's strength in the last two seasons. But neither Wriddhiman nor David Miller have found their mojo this season. Rashid Khan, too, is struggling to live up to his reputation of a proven match-winner in T20I as bowler and quick bursts with the bat lower down the order.

Sai Sudarshan has been one bright spark for the Titans but the slow approach has hurt them in both matches.

SRH aim to carry winning momentum

SRH, on the other hand, have taken IPL 2024 by storm with a couple of remarkable performances. The 277/3 against MI at home showcased their intentions with Australian Travis Head (62 off 42 balls) making a stunning debut for SRH, hitting the fastest fifty for the franchise in 18 balls.

Icing on the cake, Head’s record lasted just a few minutes as Abhishek Sharma got to his fifty in just 16 balls. Heinrich Klaasen has been a revelation for the Sunrisers with two blazing fifties in successive games.

Pace bowling an area of concern for SRH

The Hyderabad pacers have been expensive this season. But for skipper Pat Cummins, the other speedsters at his disposal  have conceded nearly 12 runs per over. A quick start by GT can put the visitors in a spot of bother.Head to head

GT hold a slight advantage in head-to-head record with two wins compared to a solitary win by Sunrisers.
