Former Pakistan cricketer Tanveer Ahmed made a startling charge against the harp BCCI and the IPL amid the ongoing scandal surrounding the Rajasthan Royals, who have been accused of match-fixing after their narrow loss to the Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur last week.

Ahmed alleged on social media that the majority of IPL teams were owned by the fixers following the events involving the Royals. The former fast bowler, who played for Pakistan in a variety of formats, stated that although the BCCI assert that the IPL is the world's largest T20 franchise tournament, it is also the hub for the biggest fixing.

"BCCI bolta ha humari IPL duniya ke sab say bari league ha han woh tou ha lekin fixing bhi sab say bari hote ha ziyada tar tou team's fixer's kay pass hain (BCCI tells that our IPL is the biggest league in the world. Yes that it is but the biggest fixing also happens and most of the teams are with the fixers)," he wrote on X.

The allegations were made by Jaideep Bihani, Convenor of the Rajasthan Cricket Association's (RCA) Ad Hoc Committee.

"Completely false and baseless," the Royals said in a strongly worded letter to the state's Sports Council and the Rajasthan government, calling for harsh action against Bihani.

Speaking to the Times of India, a BCCI spokesman denied the allegations as well, stating that the RCA had been dissolved. "The RCA is currently dissolved. An ad-hoc committee has been formed, and with the elections approaching, there is a lot of drama. Everyone wants attention."

Additionally, the official confirmed that the BCCI's anti-corruption agency closely monitors the IPL's operations around-the-clock. "The BCCI has an anti-corruption unit working 24x7 to keep bad elements away from the game. There is no truth to these allegations," he added.
