Travis Head's dynamic performances against India have become a defining feature of his career. Whether in the ODI World Cup or the T20 World Cup, Head has consistently delivered explosive batting that has placed Indian bowlers under considerable pressure.

During the 2023 ODI World Cup, Head played a pivotal role in Australia’s title-winning campaign. In a crucial final against India, he dazzled with a commanding 137 off 120 balls, including 15 boundaries and four sixes. His innings was instrumental in chasing down India's total of 240 at the packed Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, leading Australia to victory.

In the 2024 T20 World Cup, Head continued his impressive form. Against India in a critical group-stage match, he blasted a blistering 76 off 43 balls while chasing a target of 206. Although Australia fell short by 24 runs, Head's performance once again underscored his exceptional ability against India.

Are India Head's favourite opponents?

“I don’t feel like they’re my favourite,” Head told Star Sports.

"I just feel like we play them enough, play them lots. And, I guess the last couple of years I've been in good form. So yeah, being able to play well is always nice,” Head said.

"I guess it's not hard to get up for the contest. It’s hugely competitive. Yeah, it’s easier to get up for the game. So I wouldn’t say they’re my favourite. They’re extremely difficult, but it’s been nice to play well in a few games. I’m looking forward to preparing well and being ready to go. Let’s hope I can contribute to a successful summer for us,” Head added.

The Indian team will tour Australia for a five-match Test series, commencing in November.

The series will kick off with the first Test in Perth on November 22, followed by the second Test in Adelaide from December 6, the third Test in Brisbane from December 14, the fourth Test (Boxing Day Test) in Melbourne from December 26, and the fifth and final Test in Sydney from January 3.

Since the 2014-15 season, Australia has not won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, with India securing the series in the last four meetings, including historic wins in Australia in 2018-19 and 2020-21.
