Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's international future has been heavily discussed with the two now playing just one format - the ODI. Although the senior pros have expressed their desire to be part of the 2027 ODI World Cup, the BCCI management haven't made any such commitments.

Amidst the chatter around their future, a new video has surfaced online where Gautam Gambhir and Rohit can be seen engaged in a banter and possibly discussing the retirement speculation around him.

Rohit, sabko lag rha tha ki aaj farewell match tha, ek photo to lagaa do (Rohit everyone thought that today was a farewell match, post a photo)” Gambhir can be heard jokingly telling to Rohit although the audio in the video is partially unclear.

The video is reportedly after the second ODI between India and Australia at Adelaide and was captured by a fan at the team hotel. Apart from Gambhir and Rohit, newly appointed India ODI skipper Shubman Gill can be seen in the clip sharing smiles.

Rohit's return to international cricket has not been an easy one and was dismissed for eight runs in the first encounter in Perth. The former India captain produced a much improved performance in the following encounter, which saw him score 73 off 97 balls. However, it was far from his usual attacking style batting template as he consumed 57 dots. A significant amount of the dots came in the powerplay overs while tackling Josh Hazlewood. The senior opener managed 13 runs in the 31 balls he faced against Hazlewood, who had got him out in the first encounter in Perth.

Meanwhile, India have lost both the encounters in the three-match series, marking Gambhir's second series loss Down Under as India coach. India had previously lost the last edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy under Gambhir's coaching.
