Significance of Hunter Moon

After the Harvest Moon, which occurs around the autumn equinox, the Hunter Moon follows. According to the Farmer's Almanac, this is a time when hunters can spot deer that are plump from the autumn feeding. With the fields cleared, animals emerge looking for food and water. This period represents the shift in seasons and the preparation for winter. Historically, it was a time for tribes to stock up on meat for the colder months.

Why Full moon is important for Hindu Religion

In Hindu culture, the full moon, or "Purnima," holds significant importance. The phases of the moon influence various religious observances and cultural practices. This October's supermoon coincides with Sharad Purnima, also known by several other names. Celebrated across India, devotees honour Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Krishna, and the Moon God on this day. According to Drik Panchang, the Purnima Tithi will start on October 16, 2024, at 8:40 PM and conclude on October 17, 2024, at 4:55 PM.
