NASA recently announced that they will provide live coverage of spacewalks 90 and 91. These two spacewalks are scheduled for Monday, June 24, and Tuesday, July 2, respectively. Spacewalk 90 will begin at 5:30 pm (IST) on June 24 and is expected to last up to six hours. The live coverage of Spacewalk 90 will start at 4:00 pm (IST).
Both Spacewalks 90 and 91 will be available on NASA's public platforms, including social media and television.
According to NASA, Spacewalk 90 was initially scheduled for June 13 but was rescheduled due to a spacesuit discomfort issue faced by the astronauts. Two astronauts will conduct Spacewalk 90 to study the behaviour of microorganisms in space.
The two astronauts participating in Spacewalk 90 are Tracy C. Dyson and Mike Barratt. They will exit their station’s Quest airlock to manage communication with the starboard truss of the space station.
Dyson is a member of Crew 1, and Barratt is a member of Crew 2. Both will wear spacesuits, with Dyson's suit marked with red, while Barratt's suit will not be marked. This will be the fourth spacewalk for Dyson and the third for Barratt.
The second Spacewalk 91, will be scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm (IST) on July 2, and last about six and a half hours. The live coverage for this spacewalk will start at 5:00 pm (IST). The participating crew members for Spacewalk 91 have not been decided, an update on the crew members will be shared after the completion of the first spacewalk.
