China is taking a big space travel initiative by building a strong space infrastructure. China is planning to create a network of 30 satellites and 3 lunar ground stations that will enable real-time monitoring and communication between Earth and the moon.

The aim the this mission is to enable 20 or more space travels along with real-time images, video and audio sent to global viewers according to the reports of from the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) and the Beijing Institute of Spacecraft System Engineering.

This network will also provide the moments of cosmic objects happening in the interstellar space region between the Earth and the moon the researchers wrote in the journal Chinese Space Science and Technology in June.

“Cislunar space has become a new frontier for human activities,” said the team headed by Yang Mengfei, chief designer of China’s Chang’e-5 mission.

The area between Earth and the moon is known as cislunar space, which encompasses satellite orbits around Earth, the space within the moon's orbit, and the region in between.

The team explained, “Space activities in this region are set to expand rapidly over the next decade, driving a new round of global competition."

They also shared their views on this initiative and said that China needs to gain a competitive edge in space exploration most important in the cislunar economy, by establishing a top-level road map they can create a strong space infrastructure.

Researchers are claiming that China is becoming a huge player in the exploration of deep space and lunar exploration which makes it crucial for them to do strategic planning to avoid failures.

The plan of China will help humans expand knowledge and improve space exploration by enhancing communication, improving PNT (Positioning, navigation, and timing), increasing data transmission, support multiple missions and global collaboration.

This initiative is part of China’s strategic planning to become a major player in deep space and lunar exploration, and it’s expected to drive a new round of global competition in cislunar space.

Overall, the development of such infrastructure is critical to optimize resource allocation for future missions and to gain a competitive edge.
