Significance of Phalguna PurnimaPhalguna Purnima is known for its association with Holi, one of the most widely celebrated Hindu festivals. - Dol Purnima (West Bengal and Odisha): Also known as Dol Jatra, this festival is dedicated to Lord Krishna. Devotees carry the deity’s idol in a grand procession while singing devotional songs and playing with colors, similar to Holi.
- Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Jayanti: This day also marks the birth anniversary of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, a revered saint and the proponent of Gaudiya Vaishnavism. His followers celebrate the occasion with kirtans (devotional songs) and prayers.
Puja Vidhi and Remedies- Fasting: Devotees observe a full-day fast, breaking it only after sighting the full moon.
- Satya Narayana Puja: Special prayers and recitations from the Satya Narayana Katha are performed for blessings of prosperity and happiness.
- Charity and Donations: Offering food, clothes, and donations to the needy is considered highly meritorious on this day.
- Offering Prayers to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi: Reciting Vishnu Sahasranama and Lakshmi Stotra can bring divine grace.
