Former Google boss Eric Schmidt has charted out a new career path for himself – a licensed arms dealer. Latest reports say that Schmidt made the revelations while delivering a lecture at the Stanford University back in April.
During his address, he spoke about Russia’s incessant attacks on Ukraine and how the cities were destroyed. The destruction “just drove me crazy,” Schmidt said in his address. It is during this lecture that he spoke about his startup and future operations in Ukraine.
Schmidt along with Udacity CEO Sebastian Thrun is working on a new startup called White Stork. He said that the startup will focus on lowering the cost of the robots and promote the use of AI for robotic wars. Schmidt was Google's CEO from 2001 to 2011.
The April lecture was posted by the Stanford on its YouTube channel last week. However, a Business Insider report said that the university took down the viral lecture a few days later.
In the Stanford lecture, Schmidt had reportedly said that his startup will mass-produce AI-equipped drones. These drones will change the game of the future of military conflicts by eliminating the need of artillery, mortar and tanks for ground battles.
The Russia-Ukraine war, which started in February 2022, has been going on for over 1000 days now.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces are now controlling the Kursk region. The Kyiv forces say that Kursk will serve as a buffer zone. The Kursk offensive is termed as the biggest attack on Russia since World War II.
