A new biography of Queen Elizabeth II has revealed that she found former US President Donald Trump "very rude." In A Voyage Around The Queen, author Craig Brown shares that the late monarch particularly disliked Trump's behavior during his visits.
According to Brown, the Queen confided in a lunch guest that Trump kept looking over her shoulder as if searching for more interesting people, which she found disrespectful.
The book also claims that Queen Elizabeth speculated about Trump's relationship with his wife, Melania, suggesting they might have had "some sort of arrangement" that she couldn't quite understand.
These remarks are part of a broader discussion in Brown's book, where he explores the Queen's interactions with various controversial foreign leaders throughout her reign, including Trump.
During Trump's first visit to the UK in 2018, which was officially classified as a "working visit," he had tea with the Queen at Windsor Castle. The visit sparked protests, and Trump's behavior reportedly breached royal protocol on several occasions, including keeping the Queen waiting and walking in front of her during an inspection of the guard of honor.
Despite these incidents, Trump often spoke of his admiration for the Queen and claimed to have had a "great relationship" with her. Following her passing, Trump issued a statement expressing his deep sadness and describing her as a "grand and beautiful lady."
