Nifty ended near the day's high. Midcaps underperformed, while broader markets were mixed. Market breadth favored losers, with the NSE advance-decline ratio nearly at 1:2. Top sectoral gainers included autos, IT, realty, and metals, while oil & gas and PSU banks lagged. Among Nifty gainers were Tata Motors, TCS, IndusInd, Power Grid, Bharti, Sun, and Cipla, while Hero, Bajaj Finance, SBI, Divi’s, UPL, and Bajaj Finserv were among the losers.
