Va Tech Wabag share price rose nearly 2 percent in the early trade on November 20 following the company secured a large repeat order from Melamchi Water Supply Development Board (MWSDB), Nepal.
At 09:16am, Va Tech Wabag was quoting at Rs 1,426.50, up Rs 24.35, or 1.74 percent, on the BSE.
The contract includes design, build and operate (DBO) of a state-of-the-art Sundarijal Water Treatment Plant (WTP) with a capacity of 255 million liter per day (MLD) in Kathmandu Valley, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) scope will be executed over 36 months, followed by 5 years of operation and maintenance (O&M).
The new plant to be constructed adjacent to the existing Melamchi WTP, which was built by WABAG in 2017, will treat water from the Melamchi, Yangri, and Larke Rivers, meeting Nepal’s National Drinking Water Quality Standards and strengthening water security for Kathmandu’s growing population.

In the previous trading session, the share closed up 0.02 percent or Rs 0.25 at Rs 1,402.15.
The share touched a 52-week high of Rs 1,943.95 and a 52-week low of Rs 1,109.35 on 09 December, 2024 and 28 January, 2025, respectively.
Currently, the stock is trading 27.87 percent below its 52-week high and 26.39 percent above its 52-week low.
The market capitalisation of the company stands at Rs 8,734.59 crore.
