Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath's Budget day pic is viral. 'Subtle way of flexing biceps,' says internet

Captioned simply 'Budget day,' Nikhil Kamath's post was shared shortly after Budget 2024.

Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath shared a photograph on Instagram on Tuesday that was intended to capture his reaction to the Union Budget 2024. However, the image quickly garnered attention for an entirely different reason—Kamath's physique.

The 37-year-old entrepreneur posted a picture of himself in a grey sleeveless T-shirt, his bemused expression sparking a wave of commentary focused more on his biceps than on the budget itself.

Captioned simply "Budget day," Kamath's post was shared shortly after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget for 2024 in Parliament. Instead of generating discussion about the budget, the comments section was flooded with reactions to Kamath’s muscular arms.

One user remarked, "Biceps dikhane ka tareeka thoda casual hai (The way you are showing your biceps is quite casual)."

Another quipped, "Bhai for a second I thought you are Tushar Kapoor."

"Nikhil sir's reaction when he receives another pitch deck by a random man called 'Dev',"  another user commented.

A user wrote, "Didn't know Nikhil was lowkey jacked."

Kamath's brother and fellow co-founder, Nithin Kamath, also shared his views on the budget, addressing the increase in securities transaction tax and long-term capital gains tax. "If the idea was to cool down the activity in the markets, this might just do the trick," he wrote on X.

Both Nikhil and Nithin Kamath are known for their commitment to fitness, often sharing their workout routines and dietary habits on social media. In a recent interview with Mint, Nikhil Kamath revealed his practice of intermittent fasting. "I’m doing intermittent fasting. I have been for a year or two years now. So I try to do like 16 hours; I don’t eat till 2 PM. Coffee somehow suppresses my appetite, so I’ll have one coffee when markets begin at around 9 AM and then another by 12 PM, and it keeps me going till 2 PM easily," Kamath explained.

Meanwhile, Nirmala Sitharaman's presentation of the Union Budget 2024 marked her seventh consecutive budget and the first of the NDA government's third term.
