As on 26th October 2016, Central Government has procured 34,547 tons of Moong and Urad, that is around 70% of the targeted 50,000 tons of pulses buffer stock in a move to stabilize prices and to ensure minimum support prices to farmers. This move is to follow the center’s decision last month to create a buffer stock of 2 million tones to prevent price spikes and ensure availability in the future.By: Skymetweather.com
